Comedian Rhys Nicholson and his husband Kyran have listed their Coburg townhouse for sale with a price guide of $850,000.

The RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under judge, 34, has put the modern two-storey property up for auction with the hammer expected to fall on May 25.

A bare 'white on white on white' house when they snapped it up in 2017, Rhys and Kyran have not been shy with their weird and wacky renovations, reported Domain last Thursday.

The actor said he had no intention of appealing to future buyers when he designed his home, adding that he wanted to inject his own personality into it.

His biggest change came in the kitchen when Rhys had the space expanded into a 'sprawling' space with green cabinetry, pink walls and three ovens.

'I cook and we like having people over for dinner and having small get-togethers, so it just wasn't conducive to that,' Rhys said.

'We had a couple of dinner parties there and it was just like, "We need to do something about this kitchen."'

Rhys and Kyran also transformed their upstairs bedroom into a spacious living area dubbed 'the soft room' for the luxurious, thick carpet.

Elevating their home with 'absurd, stupid decorative things', Rhys went on to say his ideal interior style is very 'maximalist' with a 'healthy mixture of functional pieces'.

The listing comes after Rhys and Kyran tied the knot late last year in a bittersweet ceremony just a few weeks before their friend Cal Wilson passed away.

The comedian, 53, suffered from a rare and aggressive cancer, and was forced to miss the couple's wedding as she was in Camperdown's Prince Alfred Hospital.

Determined to leave behind a keepsake for her friends, Cal handmade an elaborate gift for the pair which took centre-stage in her place at the ceremony.

The fabulous wedding day centrepiece featured a charming Cinderella-style coach topped by figurines of Rhys and Kyran, flanked by their butterfly-bedecked initials.

The Melbourne stand-up loved to do craft in her spare time, and during the pandemic, intricate headdresses she made from dolls and jewellery became famous.

The gift she made for Rhys and Kyran now serves as a tragic but cherished lasting reminder of the couple's beloved pal.
